Mobile Crisis Response Therapist

SUMMARY
Participates in a rotating on-call schedule to provide crisis intervention to clients, assessing for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. Crisis services are provided within the community and on-site of the crisis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Crisis Responsibilities:
1. Provide crisis intervention services in person or by telephone to police, school and hospital personnel, and community residents dealing with crisis situations. This includes referrals as well as diagnostic assessment and crisis intervention treatment.
2. Conduct emergency on-site assessments of clients to determine the need for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.
3. Assess and stabilize high risk individuals and/or families.
4. Provide on-site assessment within 90 minutes.
5. Provide crisis stabilization treatment using brief intervention and solution focus therapy for up to 30 days until situation has been resolved or client can be assigned to appropriate level of care or agency program.
6. Provides crisis stabilization which includes but is not limited to case management services that coordinate, support and advocate for client, psychoeducation and Brief Intervention treatment.
7. Participate in a rotation schedule with all other mobile crisis response therapists assigned to the team.
8. Provides additional time dedicated to crisis stabilization intervention and treatment.
9. Provide intensive outreach in an attempt to engage clients who do not follow through with deflection appointments post crisis event.
10. Completes required documentation and maintains records in accordance with PCH policies and procedures.
11. Participate in PCH team, line of service, all-staff meetings and completes all required trainings.
12. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Masters degree in Counseling, Psychology, Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related degree. Related experience should include work with adults, children and adolescents, crisis intervention, assessment, case management, brief treatment, and home and community-based interventions. Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with consumers, referrals sources, and other community providers is absolutely essential.

LANGUAGE

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

SCHEDULE
Each week, full-time staff are scheduled for at least three on-call shifts and generally have two office days. This is subject to change and additional coverage may be needed as staff need to take time off, are on a leave of absence, or vacancies occur.

The on-call shifts will be a rotating through the month:
• Monday through Thursday:
• 7AM to 3:30PM; 9AM to 5:30PM; 10:30AM to 7PM; 11:30AM to 8PM
• Friday: 7AM to 3:30PM; 8AM to 4:30PM; 8:30 to 5PM

** PCH has a team of additional part-time/variable hour staff to cover the hotline overnight, on weekends, and holidays. As a last resort, full-time staff may be asked to assist with gaps in coverage, as needed.

OTHER
Must maintain a safe driving record and have current valid Illinois Driver’s License. Personal vehicle needed for transportation to/from home and community-based interventions. Mileage for authorized work-related purposes is reimbursable.

PAY & BENEFIT INFORMATION

Salary range: $50,000-57,000 *

*Based on one’s experience and qualifications as compared with our position requirements and other similar employees within the organization.
