Fill a Bag, Spread Hope: Supporting Survivors of All Genders at Our Domestic Violence Shelter

Survivors of domestic violence arrive at our shelter from all circumstances, often with very little. By filling a bag with unused essential items and small comforts, you can provide a sense of welcome and care to individuals of all genders during a time of transformation. From necessities like toiletries to thoughtful gifts that offer comfort and self-care, your donation makes a world of difference. Here are some ideas to inspire your contributions:

Inspiration for Your Bag:

  1. Full-sized shampoo and conditioner (including options for textured or Black hair)
  2. Toothbrushes and toothpaste
  3. Tampons, sanitary pads, and gender-neutral hygiene products
  4. Body wash and lotion (fragrance-free options welcome)
  5. Deodorant (for people of all genders)
  6. Skincare sets or sheet masks
  7. Lip balm, self-care items, and makeup essentials
  8. Cozy socks or slippers
  9. Gift cards (grocery stores, pharmacies, or coffee shops)
  10. Journals, notebooks, and pens

This is just an inspiration list—feel free to bring what you think would offer comfort and dignity to someone entering our shelter. Every thoughtful donation, no matter how big or small, helps survivors feel supported and valued as they begin their journey toward healing. And of course, if you’d prefer to make a monetary donation, that’s always welcome and greatly appreciated.
