Celebrating National Health Center Week 2024: Empowering Communities Through Caring Connections

Every August, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) sponsors National Health Center Week (NHCW) to celebrate and increase awareness of America’s 1,400 Community Health Centers.

This week is a time to highlight the commitment and passion of Community Health Center staff, board members, and supporters who make it possible to provide quality, comprehensive healthcare services to more than 31.5 million patients across nearly 15,000 communities annually.

National Health Center Week 2024: August 4-10

This year’s theme, “Powering Communities Through Caring Connections,” focuses on the vital role Community Health Centers play in building strong, healthy communities. At Pillars Community Health, we are proud to join this national celebration, showcasing our dedication to our clients, patients, survivors, community partners, and supporters.

Sunday: Social Determinants of Health and Community Health Workers

Social determinants of health play a critical role in overall well-being. At Pillars Community Health, we recognize the importance of factors such as housing, education, employment, and access to services in shaping health outcomes. Our skilled Community Health Workers are dedicated to connecting community members with vital services that address these determinants, ensuring a holistic approach to health and wellness.

Monday: Healthcare for People Experiencing Homelessness

On this day, we highlight our partnership with BEDS Plus, an organization dedicated to helping those experiencing homelessness. Together, we provide comprehensive healthcare services, including medical, dental, behavioral health care, and domestic and sexual violence wrap-around services, ensuring that everyone in our community has access to the care they need, regardless of their housing situation.

Tuesday: Immigrant Health

Immigrants enrich our communities, bringing diverse perspectives and cultures. However, they often face barriers to accessing healthcare. Pillars Community Health is committed to breaking down these barriers by offering culturally competent care and support services tailored to the unique needs of immigrant populations.

Wednesday: Patient Appreciation

Our patients are at the heart of everything we do. On Patient Appreciation Day, we celebrate the resilience and strength of those we serve. We are honored to be part of their health journeys and remain dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Thursday: Stakeholder Appreciation

Our work would not be possible without the support of our stakeholders. From community partners to elected officials and neighbors, their collaboration and advocacy are crucial to our mission. On Stakeholder Appreciation Day, we acknowledge and thank those who help us achieve our goals and empower our community.

Friday: Health Center Staff Appreciation

The dedication and hard work of our staff are the backbone of Pillars Community Health. From our front-line healthcare providers to our administrative team, each member plays a vital role in delivering high-quality care. We celebrate their unwavering commitment to our mission and their impact on our community’s health and well-being.
