The History of Buddy’s Place
Buddy’s Place, a program of Pillars Community Health (PCH), provides grief support for youth ages 4–18 and their caregivers. Families can take part in monthly gatherings, eight-week support group sessions, and special events designed to help them navigate loss with care and community.

Buddy’s Place Marks 25 Years, Launches Campaign to Support Grieving Children
Countryside, IL – September 2025 – One in 11 children in the U.S. will experience the death of a parent or sibling before age 18 (Judi’s House/JAG Institute, 2025). For 25 years, Buddy’s Place, a program of Pillars Community Health, has provided a lifeline for grieving children, teens, and their families by offering free support groups and events year-round.
