Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2026: Find Support and Get Involved

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is a time to learn, connect and act. Explore October events, share local resources, and find confidential support through Pillars Community Health.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is an opportunity to come together for survivors, learn how abuse affects our communities, and take action to prevent it. Throughout October, Pillars Community Health (PCH) and our community partners invite you to join the conversation, share resources, and help more people know where to turn.

In 2025, 1,067 survivors of domestic and sexual violence received advocacy and counseling through PCH. We also provided shelter and safety to 96 individuals at Constance Morris House, our domestic violence shelter. These services continue throughout the year.

If you or someone you know is seeking domestic violence support, call PCH’s confidential, 24-hour Domestic Violence Crisis Line at 708-485-5254.

What Domestic Violence Support Does PCH Offer?

PCH offers a range of free services for survivors, including crisis support, counseling, medical and legal advocacy, and emergency shelter at Constance Morris House. Our team can help people explore their options and connect with support that fits their circumstances. You do not have to know which service you need before calling.

Our work also includes education and prevention. By helping people recognize warning signs and learn about healthy relationships, we can strengthen the community response to domestic violence.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month ends in October, but the need for care, safety and community connection does not. By sharing resources and showing up for one another, we can help more people find support throughout the year.
