Behavioral Health Services Receive Accreditation

Pillars Community Health’s Behavioral Health Services are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). We have received the highest level of accreditation at each survey since 1995.

Accreditation is an indication of an organization’s dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the people it serves. Pillars Community Health’s Servicios para la Salud del Comportamiento are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). We have received the highest level of accreditation at each survey since 1995. In December 2018, we were again awarded the highest level: a Three-Year Accreditation, through October 31, 2021. According to the CARF website, “Providers that meet our standards have demonstrated their commitment to being among the best available.”

The accreditation process included confidential interviews with clients and partners, on-site observation of operations and service delivery practices, review of organization policies and procedures, and other requirements. CARF accreditors surveyed such services as outpatient mental health, crisis intervention, addictions services, and employment services for people experiencing mental illness. Standards needed to be met for everything from strategic planning and financial management to technology, outpatient treatment, and quality records management.

Surveyors noted that Pillars Community Health “is well respected in the community, and clients, their families, funding sources, and community partners voice a high degree of satisfaction with the services provided and the organization’s business practices. Pillars Community Health has exceptional leadership, staff members, and board members that together create a culture of accountability, transparency, and mutual trust.”

Areas of strength noted in CARF’s report:

  • “The organization has outstanding policies and procedures to guide its fundraising practices.”
  • “It is apparent the organization has a solid practice of good listening and then taking action to respond to appropriate feedback.”
  • “The organization’s performance measurement, management, and improvement system for program outcomes is outstanding.”
  • “The clients consistently reported high praise for the services and help they had received.”
