Since 1988 a month-long observance recognizing the power and influence of the various Hispanic cultures in the United States has been underway annually. This year’s theme, “Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation,” encourages us to ensure that all voices are represented and welcomed to help build stronger communities and a stronger nation. Over 60 million Latino/a/x and Hispanic Americans have made significant contributions to our culture and society, and Hispanic Heritage Month honors these efforts.
Pillars Community Health, in our health centers, offices, and community spaces, has the opportunity to emphasize the inherent aspects of individual diversity throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, enhancing our appreciation for and understanding of diverse cultures.
Pillars Community Health values the diversity of experiences, viewpoints, and cultural practices important to our coworkers and patients. Our ultimate goal is to promote equity by giving everyone equal access to the care they need, when they need it, celebrating who they are.
