Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches adults how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18.
By the end of this class, you will be able to…
- Confidently have a supportive conversation with a young person about mental health or substance use challenges.
- Apply the ALGEE action plan in pre-crisis scenarios to connect a young person to professional & self-help resources
- Identify common signs and symptoms of a mental health challenge
- and so much more

- Disruptive behavior disorders (including ADHD)
- Eating disorders
- Substance use

Completion of the online pre-work is required to attend the instructor-led session.

Instructors may deny entry if the pre-work is not completed.

A minimum of five participants is required by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to hold a class.

Instructors may cancel the class if fewer than five participants are present. Registrants will be notified in advance if a class is canceled due to low enrollment.
