According to Johns Hopkins Medicine some indicators of school-related anxiety may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Changes in behavior: <\/strong>Oversleeping or not sleeping enough, avoiding school or social activities, withdrawing from friends or family.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Physical symptoms:<\/strong> Headaches, stomachaches, fatigue, changes in breathing or heart rate, loss of appetite.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>What You Can Do<\/h1>\n<p>By being aware of your child\u2019s anxiety, you will be more prepared to help them. According to the American Psychological Association, if your child has anxiety going back to school, you can help them by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Talk to your child and ask questions:<\/strong> Listen closely and validate their feelings. Work together to find solutions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Communicate with school staff:<\/strong> Let teachers or support staff know how your child is feeling so they can offer support.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Offer encouragement:<\/strong> Celebrate progress and reassure your child that their feelings are valid.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ease into routines:<\/strong> Gradually reintroduce a school sleep schedule and practice the morning\u00a0 drop-off to help reduce stress.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Model calm and confidence: <\/strong>Children take cues from caregivers.
