With the holiday season behind us, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Rotary Club of La Grange<\/a> for their dedication and for bringing joy to so many children\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n

Through this collaboration, children ages 0\u201318 who complete at least one preventive medical or dental visit during a specified time period are eligible to participate in the Secret Santa Program. Preventive care visits include services such as medical sports physicals, well-child visits, annual physicals, dental cleanings, and exams. All children in a family are eligible if they each complete their preventive visits at any PCH location.<\/p>\n

Eligible families receive information from PCH staff about how to submit their children\u2019s wish lists to Rotary. These lists help ensure each child receives essential winter clothing\u2014such as hats, gloves, and scarves\u2014along with a specially chosen gift. In addition, children may receive school supplies like notebooks, paper, and sharpened pencils, tailored to their age and needs.<\/p>\n

This past season, over 1,300 letters were sent to parents and guardians, notifying them of their child\u2019s eligibility and providing instructions for completing and returning a wish list by the program\u2019s deadline. Once wish lists are submitted, Rotary works to match each child with a sponsor, who carefully selects items from their list.<\/p>\n

The wish lists include categories such as hobbies, likes and dislikes, and clothing preferences. Every child also receives pajamas or loungewear, with careful attention given to ensuring sizes and styles meet their needs. Once the gifts are organized, families are notified of their designated pick-up location for the unwrapped items. PCH staff joins the Secret Santa \u201celves\u201d in distributing these gifts, ensuring a smooth and joyful process.<\/p>\n

By scheduling regular preventive medical and dental visits, you\u2019re not only supporting your child\u2019s year-round health but also creating opportunities for special holiday moments through programs like this.
