For over 40 years, Pillars Community Health\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/pillarscommunityhealth.org\/es\/services\/servicios-de-violencia-domestica-y-sexual\/\">domestic violence services<\/a> have provided emergency shelter, crisis intervention, medical and legal advocacy, counseling, and health care services to adult and child survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Located in La Grange, IL, it remains the only shelter among four providers of non-residential domestic violence services within the near west and southwest suburbs. The nearest overnight facilities are located approximately 10 miles to the east or west and 20 miles north or south.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The need for significant improvements to Constance Morris House became even more apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our shelter residents were temporarily moved off-site to allow for modifications that enabled safe physical distancing. The newly renovated shelter now includes individual private family rooms with flexible layouts, private bathrooms, upgraded kitchen and group areas, increased laundry facilities, and enhanced fire safety, electrical, and HVAC systems.
